Candidate for Gainsborough Trent division of County Council
Chairman of East Midlands Conservative Young Women

Laura has experience of being a councillor for the Wragby Parish Council, which provides governance and management of Wragby on a local level. This means she has prior experience in all areas such as planning, charity work, highways, crime and policing, amenity services, environment and community development. This has also led to Laura becoming a trustee of the Henry Mawer Charity, which greatly benefits the community of Wragby.

Laura is currently Chairman for the East Midlands region for Conservative Young Women, and is a member of the Conservative women’s organisation; Young Conservatives, and 50:50. Her role as Chairman for the East Midlands Young Women entails providing all the necessary information and support to allow all young women to stand for office, from local government to parliament and continue to support young women and facilitate a network of support which will allow them to stand for the topics in which they are invested in.

Laura is also heavily involved and invested in the heritage of Gainsborough, as her family have been closely associated with Gainsborough Old Hall for 500 years, before handing the secured future of the Hall, over to English Heritage, to ensure its presence of the centre of Gainsborough for the community for many more centuries to come.

As a young member of the community, Laura is an advocate for supporting areas in the community which will benefit the younger generations, steer them away from crime and towards growth and future success. Not only does she support the importance of education, but also the necessary need for facilities for families, and people of all ages to enjoy.

As a volunteer Psychotherapist, Laura also understands the need for health and social care, and providing support for the elderly and vulnerable members of the community, and is working towards creating that support system.

Laura wishes to combine all of her education and experiences, to provide a better standard of living for the people in the Gainsborough Constituency and will continue to follow her political career in order to accomplish these standards.
