Conservatives Select Candidate for Cherry Willingham Ward By-Election

Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association are really pleased to have selected a first-class, local candidate, for the forthcoming by-election on Thursday, 29th September, for the Cherry Willingham Ward vacancy on West Lindsey District Council.

Mr. Ashley Perraton-Williams, Chairman of the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association, was pleased to announce that Mrs. Maureen Palmer had been selected as the local Conservative Party Candidate. He said:

 “Maureen is a dedicated, local and hardworking individual who has all the qualities to really deliver for local people on the district council. She is passionate about the local environment and ensuring that rural communities are not left behind. I know that supporting Maureen is the only way local residents will get the district councillor they need.”

Maureen commenting on her selection as the Conservative candidate said:

“I am proud to be a candidate in the West Lindsey District Council by-election for the Cherry Willingham ward on Thursday, 29th September 2016. I look forward to meeting and speaking with as many local residents as possible and I hope they will be kind enough to support me. I am not going to promise the world or that I’ll work miracles. I do promise that I will listen to local residents’ concerns and work tirelessly to have our voice heard.”

The Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr. Jeff Summers, added:

“Conservatives are proud to be leading the way at West Lindsey District Council.

“We have a cohesive and energetic team of councillors at West Lindsey within our ruling Conservative Group. I hope that local people will add Maureen Palmer to our team, so that local, views from the communities of the Cherry Willingham ward are heard.”

Alexander Bridgwood, who’s resignation to join the armed forces has caused the vacancy on the council hopes that Maureen Palmer will be his successor, he said:

“Maureen is the right candidate to succeed me, she is intelligent and dedicated, having served in the Women's Royal Army Corps, I know she'll make a great councillor for the Cherry Willingham Ward.”
