Gainsborough & District Branch

Gainsborough & District Conservatives is a branch of the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association.

The Branch's area covers the West Lindsey District Council wards of:

  • Gainsborough East
  • Gainsborough North
  • Gainsborough South West
  • Hemswell
  • Lea; and 
  • Scotter & Blyton

An area which has a population of approximately 25,000 electors, there are thirteen district council seats (currently 2 Conservative 9 Liberal Democrat and 2 Gainsborough Independent) and 3 whole and 1 partial county council seats (currently 2 Conservative, 1 Liberal Democrat, 1 Independent). Our local, Conservative parliamentarian, is Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Leigh.

The Branch's main functions are fundraising activity, social events, political events and local campaigning through co-ordination of the Local Conservative Action Teams (LCAT)

Gill came to Gainsborough North Ward thirty years ago, first helping her husband run a mixed veterinary practice and bringing up their three children.

Sheila’s family has lived in and around Gainsborough for about thirty years and upon retirement she decided to move here permanently and also be within easy reach of her children and grandchildren.
